Dental Implants
complimentary implant COnsultation
At the consultation we discuss the specific areas dental implants can impact your oral health and quality of life. We use advanced 3D CT imaging with CAD/CAM software to design and plan the treatment right before your eyes.
Dental Implant Placement
The placement of dental implants is a very controlled procedure. Dr. Pollan with his extensive dental implant training uses advanced equipment and best U.S. made implants for all of his patients.
implant crown
Once complete healing is confirmed, a custom implant crown is fabricated. The implant impression is captured and sent to the lab as a 3D digital scan. They return a beautiful, customized crown to replace the missing tooth.
There are several ways dental implants can improve our ability to eat food and interact with others around us.
Single or multiple tooth space that has been without teeth for a short or long time
A trouble tooth that is planed for extraction can sometimes have an implant placed the same day
A loose denture or partial denture can gain stability with implants
Full sets of teeth, or dentures, supported by implants
The treatment planning and consultation process provides the patient and Dr. Pollan an opportunity to determine how implants can best improve the patients smile and life. With our CT imaging we can prepare three dimensional images of the bone and teeth in the area of interest. Then, we determine the right size and orientation of implant before we ever lay you back in the chair. These tools help us identify vital structures in each patients unique anatomy and prepare for otherwise unknown variables. For complex cases, we 3D print custom surgical guides to provide incredible accuracy for implant placement and implant results.
With the treatment planning completed, the day of implant placement goes smoothly. Sometimes the problem tooth needs to be carefully removed prior to implant placement, other times the implants go right in the space missing a tooth. Once the implant has been placed, the body needs 90 days to heal and create a strong connection to the bone to manage the stress of chewing. If the missing tooth is in the smile zone, we will have a custom artificial tooth waiting for you to wear home that day.
Three months after placement, we verify the implant integration (bone health) and begin fabrication of the final prosthesis, or dental implant crown. If the implant or implants are replacing one or more teeth, it will be a custom crown or bridge. When an existing denture or partial denture needs stabilization, a fitting process begins.
With new digital scanning equipment and software, we make high resolution 3D scans to inform the lab of the orientation of the implant in the mouth. Digital scanning is a gag free, quick, and accurate process. We have our local lab, D&S, fabricate customized components specific for each patient.
When the implant crown or denture is delivered, we check for a precise fit. At future exams and cleanings, we verify function, health of the supporting tissue, and ensure that everything is being maintained to ensure a long lasting dental restoration.
